Elgin “Model 499” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1933.
The “Model 499” has cushion-shaped case with Art Deco geometric designs on the bezel and case sides. It was priced to consumers at $39.75 in 1933. This example is in near mint condition with no brassing. Caseback is superb and unengraved. The case measures 35mm long and 29mm wide. Original dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Elgin grade 487 manual wind movement, just serviced and running well.
