Lord Elgin “Thornton” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill with black inlay, circa 1954.
The “Thornton” has a flared case with black inlay and was priced at $79.50 in 1954. This example is in excellent condition with only a few specks of brassing to the lugs. Black inlay has been perfectly restored. Case back is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 36mm long and 26mm wide. Original dial is excellent. Has new domed acrylic crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 21-jewel Elgin grade 670 manual wind movement, just serviced and running well.
