Scarce Hamilton “Drake” men’s Art Deco design men’s wristwatch in 10K white gold fill, circa 1934.
The “Drake” has a large, curved case with Art Deco steps along the sides. Offered at a time when white gold was rapidly declining in popularity, the white gold filled “Drake” was produced in only very small numbers... just 4,121 were made. It was priced to consumers at $37.50 in 1934. This example is in crisp, near mint condition with no brassing. It is the nicest “Drake” I have ever offered. Caseback is superb and unengraved. The case measures 41mm long and 27mm wide. Original black enamel painted dial is excellent, with slight patina at the edges. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987-F manual wind movement, just serviced and running well.
