Hamilton “Donald” men’s Retro Modern design presentation wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, circa 1947.

The “Donald” was a successful watch for Hamilton; it was offered in the catalog for over 10 years. It was priced to consumers at $100.00 in 1947. This example is in excellent condition showing only very light wear. Caseback is excellent with a wonderful presentation engraving for the Massachusetts High School Basketball State Championship. It seems likely that this watch was presented to the legendary Louis "Luke" Urban, the head coach of Durfee High School, who was a collegiate All-American in football for Boston College, and also played in the NFL for the Buffalo All-Americans, minor league baseball for the New York Yankees, and major league baseball for the Boston Braves in the 1920s. The case measures 36mm long and 22mm wide. Original dial is very good, has solid 18K applied numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 982M manual wind movement, just serviced and running well.
