Lord Elgin “Black Knight” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1953.
The “Black Knight” is one of the most collectible Elgin models from the 1950s and has a black honeycomb textured dial with Space Age gold numerals. This example is in very good condition with light brassing to the lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 41mm long and 27mm wide. Original dial is excellent, has solid gold applied fancy numerals and markers, and shows slight patina from age. Has new domed glass crystal. Watch has is powered by its correct 21-jewel Elgin grade 680 adjusted manual wind movement, just serviced and running well.
