Scarce Waltham “Doctor’s Pulsations” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1940.

Waltham produced this variation of its “Upton” model with a variety of different dials, with this blue “pulsations” dial marketed to doctors being the scarcest. This unique dial allowed doctors to calculate a patient’s pulse using the sweep seconds hand. It is in very good condition with some moderate brassing to the bezel and lugs. Caseback is very good and unengraved with some small amounts of wear along the edges, and a dent. Case measures 38mm long and 26mm wide and takes a 14mm strap. Original dial is excellent, has embossed gold numerals, and one light scratch near 6. Has solid gold hour and minute hands, and blued steel sweep seconds hand. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 18-jewel Waltham manual wind movement, just serviced and running well.
