Very scarce Gruen “Longacre” men’s Machine Age design wristwatch in solid 14K gold, circa 1932.

Gruen aficionados believe the “Longacre” was named for prominent Cincinnati physician Dr. Jacob Longacre (1907 to 1976), who married Fred Gruen’s daughter, Margaret. It was priced at $100.00 and was powered by the rare 21-jewel grade 3251 Quadron movement, Gruen’s first 21-jewel wristwatch movement. It is a very scarce Gruen model and this is the only example I have ever offered. It is in excellent condition with sharp case edges, showing only the very slightest indications of wear. Curved caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 38mm long and 22mm wide. Original luminous dial is good. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by a 21-jewel Gruen grade 3251 Quadron movement.
