Very scarce Hamilton “Meadowbrook” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in solid 14K white gold, circa 1932.

Perhaps the most urbane and sophisticated watch Hamilton ever produced, the “Meadowbrook” was named for the exclusive Meadow Brook Club on Long Island, New York. The Meadow Brook was a hunt, polo, and golf club which counted Theodore Roosevelt among its members and which was just a few miles from another club which had a Hamilton watch named for it, the Piping Rock Club. The watch has a very elegant cushion-shaped bezel set on a gently curved case. The “Meadowbrook” was priced to consumers at $110.00 in 1932 with the applied gold numeral dial, and a mere 2,020 examples of all varieties were produced in 14K white gold. This example is in crisp excellent condition showing almost on wear. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 35mm long and 28mm wide. Refinished dial is superb, has solid 18K applied numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 979-F adjusted movement.
