Very scarce Gruen Pan American Navigator men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in steel, circa 1945.
The Gruen “Pan American Navigator” is usually seen in gold fill, but a only a handful of all-steel cased models are known. It is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Casebody retains all of its brushed finish contrasting with the polished bezel. The case measures 39mm long and 32mm wide. Refinished two-tone silver and white 24-hour military dial is superb. Has new acrylic crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Gruen grade 420SS Veri-Thin movement.
