Scarce Elgin “Jeweler’s Diamond Dial” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in two-tone solid 14K rose and white gold, circa 1940.

In the 1940s and 1950s, jewelry firms made custom precious metal cases for Hamilton, Elgin, and Longines movements fitted with diamond dials. This stunning example has a rose gold case with white gold ribs on the bezel. It is in excellent condition showing only very slight wear, plus a couple of very tiny dings to the sides of the case. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 43mm long and 21mm wide. Aged copper-finish dial is very good, has diamond inlaid numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Elgin grade 483 movement.
