Scarce Elgin “States 682” men’s Machine Age design wristwatch in two-tone 14K white gold fill with yellow gold overlay, circa 1929.
The “States 682” has a large stepped case with hooded lugs, with one step of the case having a yellow gold overlay. It was priced to consumers at $44.00 in 1929 and is quite scarce. This example in excellent condition with only a tiny speck or two of brassing to the corner of the lugs, and some light wear and scratching to the yellow gold overlay on the steps. Caseback is superb and unengraved. Case measures 39mm long and 28mm wide. Refinished dial is superb, has embossed gold numerals. Has new glass crystal. Watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Elgin grade 428 movement.
