Scarce Elgin “Style No. 6” ladies’ Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 18K white gold with 8 diamonds and black enamel, circa 1927.
The “Style No. 6” has a solid 18K white gold case inlaid with black enamel designs and 2 diamonds in each corner. It was among the first factory-cased watches offered by Elgin and was priced to consumers at $150.00 in 1927.… almost $2,100 in today’s money. It is in crisp, excellent condition showing almost no wear. Diamonds are bright and perfect, enamel is perfect and complete. Caseback is excellent, with an engraving. Case measures 30mm long and 17mm wide. Dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Elgin grade 483 movement. Has new black grosgrain strap and vintage white gold filled buckle.
