Hamilton “Barrel Engraved” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1929.

The designs of Hamilton’s “Barrel” model wristwatches underwent several changes during the course of the 1920s. This version with highly stylized “Motif” engravings set in arched panels on the bezel was the final edition introduced and was priced at $57.00 in 1929. Hamilton records indicate that a total of 8,938 examples of all variations of the “Barrel Engraved” were produced. This example is in excellent condition with only a few specks of brassing in the bezel corners. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 35mm long and 29mm wide. Refinished dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987 movement.
