Rare Waltham “6-Size Giant Trench” men’s Military design wristwatch in silverode, circa 1917.
Giant 6-size trench watches are very scarce and this is the very first Waltham version I have offered. This example has the very rare shadow box numeral dial. The Philadelphia silverode case is in excellent condition showing only very light wear to the case. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Original porcelain dial is superb with no cracks, just a few tiny chips at the edges which aren’t visible with the bezel in place. Case measures 43mm long and 38mm wide. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Waltham Seaside grade movement.
