Elgin “Model 1270” men’s Machine Age design wristwatch in steel, circa 1935.
This watch has a sharply angled case in Veritas metal, Elgin’s non-magnetic steel. It was priced at $37.50 in 1935 and is somewhat uncommon. It is in excellent condition, showing only very light wear. Caseback is excellent, with a monogram and date. The case measures 40mm long and 20mm wide. Original two-tone is excellent, has blued, embossed minute track and index markers. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Elgin grade 483 movement.
