Rare Elgin “Model E-7” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1930.
This variety of the “Model E-7” has a cushion-shaped dial rather than the round dial usually seen with this model. This is only the second example I’ve had of this cushion-dialed version; it is quite rare. Elgin likely assigned a different model number based on the different dial and bezel, but I have yet to determine it from any existing Elgin documentation. This example is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing. Caseback is excellent and unengraved with a few scratches. Case measures 33mm long and 30mm wide. Refinished dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. Watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Elgin grade 428 movement.
