Uncommon Illinois “Andover” men’s Streamline Moderne wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1932.

The “Andover” has a very elegant tank-shaped case with tapered lugs and was one of the last designs introduced by Illinois just before the factory in Springfield closed. It was priced at $52.50 in 1932 and was produced in both 10K gold fill and 14K gold fill, with this 14k gold fill version being much scarcer than the 10K gold filled version. Normally found heavily worn, this example is in excellent condition with only very light brassing to the edges of the lugs. Caseback is excellent with only one tiny speck of wear. The case measures 38mm long and 24mm wide. Original dial is very good. Glass crystal is excellent. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Illinois grade 207 rectangular movement.
