Scarce Hamilton “Richmond” men’s Streamlined Moderne design presentation wristwatch in solid 18K yellow gold, circa 1939.
Cased in solid 18K gold and priced at $125.00, the “Richmond” was Hamilton’s flagship gold watch during the 1930s and remained so until replaced by the 18K “Gordon” model around 1941. The “Richmond” was the first solid 18K gold Hamilton men’s wristwatch to be regularly catalogued, previous 18K models were special order only. This example is in crisp, excellent condition showing almost no wear. Case edges are sharp and well-defined. Caseback is excellent , with a presentation inscription. Original dial is very good, has solid 18K applied numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 982 movement.
