Very scarce Elgin “Home Run 1615” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K green gold fill, circa 1931.
One of the scarcest Elgin designs from the early 1930s, the “Home Run 1615” has an unusual sculpted case with Art Deco engravings set in panels on the bezel. It was priced at $37.50 in 1931. This is the first green example I have offered in a long time. It is in excellent condition with only a small amount of brassing to the bezel corners. Curved caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 36mm long and 28mm wide. Refinished dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. Crown is yellow. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Elgin grade 428 movement.
