Uncommon Hamilton “Whitman” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1941.
The “Whitman” was offered only in the 1940 catalog, priced at $45.00. The 1941 catalog included an insert noting that the watch had been discontinued. It is very difficult to find and this is the first one I have offered in many years. This example is in excellent condition with just a few specks of brassing to the highpoints of the bezel. Caseback is excellent with a presentation engraving. The case measures 38mm long and 22mm wide. Dial is excellent, has solid 18K gold applied numerals. Gold hands show some light corrosion. Has new glass crystal. Watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 980 movement.
