Rare Elgin “Diamond 121” ladies’ Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 18K white gold fill with diamonds and sapphires and black enamel, circa 1931.
The “Diamond 121” has a solid 18K gold case with 10 diamonds and 4 sapphires, plus geometric designs inlaid with black enamel. It was priced to consumers at a whopping $200.00 in 1931. It is quite rare; this is the only one I’ve ever seen. This example is in crisp, excellent condition showing only slight wear. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 32mm long and 17mm wide. Original dial is superb. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Elgin grade 483 movement.
