Rare Lord Elgin “Model 4502” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in solid 14K rose gold, circa 1942.
This was Elgin‘s first asymmetric case design, resembling a scroll being unrolled from bottom to top. The “Model 4502” was priced to consumers at $150.00 in 1942, available in either yellow or rose gold. This rose gold version is much rarer than the yellow gold version, and this is only the second I have ever offered. It is in excellent to condition, showing only very slight wear with one tiny ding to the side of the case. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 36mm long and 20mm wide. Original dial is very good, with some light marks. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 21-jewel Elgin grade 559 adjusted movement.
