Very scarce Elgin “Giant Trench” men’s Military design wristwatch in silverode, circa 1917.
Giant 6-size trench watches are very scarce and this is the very first I have offered. This example is in excellent condition showing only very light wear to the case. Caseback is very good and unengraved, with some faint pitting. Original metal dial is superb, has date stamp for October 1917 on reverse. Luminous dots are intact, minute hand is missing its luminous. Very large case measures 42mm long and 38mm wide. Has new glass crystal. Original flat crown is excellent. This watch is powered by its correct 7 jewel Elgin grade 289 gilt movement.
