Rare Illinois “Marquis” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in reverse two-tone 14K green and white gold fill, circa 1929.
Any two-tone “Marquis” is quite scarce, but examples with a white case body and green bezel and back such as this one are quite rare. This is one of the few I have ever seen. Serial numbers match on all 3 case pieces. The “Marquis” with the 19 jewel movement was priced at $60.00 in 1929. This one is in excellent condition, with some light brassing to the bezel corners and lugs. Caseback is excellent unengraved, with two tiny dings. The case measures 39mm long and 29mm wide. Two-tone dial is an older refinish, with unusual black enamel painted exploding numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19 jewel Illinois grade 907 movement.
