Rare Hamilton “Barrel B Engraved” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1929.
Hamilton made several varieties of wristwatches based on the barrel shape, with this “Barrel B” model being the final and most elusive version. Catalogued for only a short time, Hamilton records show that a mere 1,237 were produced in white gold fill. This is one of the few examples I have offered. As one of Hamilton’s most stylized Art Deco watches, the “Barrel B” features Southwestern-inspired geometric designs set against a textured background on the bezel. This example is in crisp, excellent condition with only a tiny amount of brassing to the bezel corners, plus some to the lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 35mm long and 29mm wide. Refinished dial is superb. Has new thick glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Hamilton grade 987 movement.
