Uncommon Hamilton “Lawton” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1954.
One of Hamilton’s more whimsical designs of the 1950s, the “Lawton” was a radical departure from the firm’s more conservative styles of the late 1940s and early 1950s, and has a deeply sculpted ornate bezel. It is a difficult watch to find. This example is in crisp, excellent condition with only a tiny amount of brassing to the lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with some faint dimples. The case measures 37mm long and 26mm wide. Original dial is excellent and has solid 18K gold applied numerals. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Hamilton grade 747 adjusted movement.
