Very scarce Elgin “Oval” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K green gold fill, circa 1929.
This striking model was officially catalogued as the “Model 664,” although most collectors refer to it as the “Oval” model, due to its remarkable resemblance to the Hamilton “Oval” model. Indeed, the Elgin “Oval” and the Hamilton “Oval” were both produced by the Fahys Watch Case Co. This is only the second example I have offered in green. It is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing. Caseback is excellent, with a monogram. Case measures 37mm long and 28mm wide. Refinished dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 15 jewel Elgin grade 428 movement.
