Rare Elgin “Joseph Priestley” men’s Streamline Moderne design doctor’s wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1941.

Named for the famed English philosopher and theologian who discovered oxygen, Joseph Priestley (1733 to 1804), this duo-dial doctor’s model is very rare… much rarer than its Hamilton contemporary, the “Seckron.” It was priced at $45.00 in 1941. The movement and crown are offset in the case to accommodate the unique dial configuration containing the two dials. It is in excellent condition showing only a few specks of brassing to the lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with one small ding. Case measures 44mm long and 20mm wide. Original black dial is very good, has a few marks and nicks to the black finish. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Elgin grade 537 movement.
