Very scarce Hamilton “Barrel Engraved” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1927.
This watch is a transition between the earliest 1927 “Barrel” models and the later versions, and has an unusual coat-of-arms caseback imprint with the “987” designation. It is one of only a handful I’ve seen. It is in crisp, near mint condition with only a speck or two of brassing. The ornate Art Deco engravings on the bezel and case sides are razor-sharp. Caseback is superb and unengraved. Case measures 35mm long and 28mm wide. Refinished dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Hamilton grade 987 movement.
