Very scarce Elgin “Thrift 446” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in chromium nickel, circa 1931.
The “Thrift 446” has an integrated metal bracelet and was priced at $24.75 in 1931. This is the only example I have seen with its correct, original bracelet. This example is in crisp, excellent condition with almost no wear. The case exhibits most of its original alternating frosted and polished finish. Caseback is superb and unengraved. The case measures 39mm long and 31mm wide. Original dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 7 jewel Elgin grade 485 movement. Bracelet is excellent, with some wear on the underside of the clasp, and is sized for a small wrist.
