Very scarce Bulova “Oxford” men’s Modern design wristwatch in sterling silver, circa 1925.
This model was only very recently identified by Bulova historians as the “Oxford” model, from a 1925 advertisement. It was priced at $37.50 in 1925. It was one of Bulova's first tank-styled men's watches. Early Bulova wristwatches in gold or sterling silver cases are scarce, and this is the first sterling silver men’s Bulova I have ever offered. It is in excellent condition showing only very slight wear to the case. Hinged caseback is excellent, with an elegant Art Nouveau script engraving. The case measures 39mm long and 21mm wide. Refinished dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Bulova grade 8TA movement.
