Scarce Elgin “Model 6618” men’s Military design wristwatch in solid 10K yellow gold with steel back, circa 1946.
This watch features the unusual combination of a solid gold bezel with a steel caseback, like the Hamilton “Vancott” model. This is only the third example of this scarce model I have offered. It is in excellent condition showing almost no wear to the gold bezel. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 38mm long and 38mm wide. Black dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 16 jewel Elgin grade 539 hacking movement, which can be stopped for synchronization when the stem is pulled out.
