Scarce Lord Elgin “Model 4517” men’s Retro Modern design wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, circa 1949.
The “Model 4517” has a large rectangular case with angled lugs. This example is in crisp, excellent condition showing only very slight wear. Caseback is superb and unengraved, with some of its factory-applied brushed finish. Case measures 39mm long and 24mm wide. Refinished dial is superb, has solid gold applied numerals and markers. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 21-jewel Elgin grade 626 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
