Scarce Omega “Seamaster Calendar Automatic” men’s Modern design wristwatch in stainless steel, circa 1958.
Stainless steel vintage watches are all the rage currently, and examples such as this classic “Seamaster” with its black “tropical” dial are very much in demand. This watch is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with the etched “waterproof” engraving being somewhat faint. This version has the large 19mm diameter Hippocampus logo, which was produced for only a short time. Case measures 41mm long and 34mm wide. Original black dial with gilt printing shows a pleasing “tropical” coloration and has applied gold dagger markers and applied gold Omega logo. Gold hands shows some corrosion, but have most of their original luminous material. Has new acrylic crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 20-jewel caliber 503 Omega automatic wind calendar movement, just serviced and running strong. Correct Omega steel crown is excellent.
