Very scarce Elgin “States 944” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1931.
The “States 944” was priced at $45.00 in 1931 and is fairly scarce, this is the first one I’ve offered. It has a very unusual case with faceted and hooded lugs. This example is in crisp, excellent condition with no brassing, just a few dings to the lugs. Caseback is superb and unengraved. The case measures 35mm long and 26mm wide. Original white finish dial is excellent, has raised gold numerals. Glass crystal is excellent. This watch is powered by its correct 17 jewel Elgin grade 483 movement.
