Elgin “Avigo 1458” men’s Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1935.
The “Avigo 1458” has an aviation-style dial with oversize numerals, bullet-shaped luminous markers, and a red sweep seconds hand. It was priced at $27.50 in 1935. This example is in excellent condition with just a little brassing and a few tiny dings. Caseback is excellent and unengraved with a tiny bit of wear near the crown. The case measures 35mm long and 28mm wide. Refinished luminous dial is superb. Has new acrylic crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 502 manual wind movement, just serviced and running well.
